Tying the Jiggy YK Flasher Yong Special Fishing Fly
by DiscountFlies • February 03, 2024 in Fly Tying Videos
Mr Kim’s Yong Special fishing fly was developed for the pickiest trout on the San Juan. We’ve found that it works well anywhere. This is a version that is tied on a jig hook and incorporates a bit of flash into the butt end. The body is Coats & Clark sewing thread. The color is Summer Brown. You can find this at any local craft store, Walmart, or even Amazon. It comes on a spool, which makes it easy to load into a bobbin. The key to this fly is to tightly cord the thread prior to wrapping it forward. This creates fantastic segmentation. Keep the thread corded as you wrap forward. While Summer Brown is the classic color used by Mr Kim, this fly can be tied in any color combination you can imagine: https://www.discountflies.com/...
