The Trailing Shuck Emerger is a classic midge emerger that can be tied in either light or dark shades. Mr Harrop’s CDC Transitional Midge, a similar style, is often cited as one to the top surface midges for waters from coast to coast. Fished behind a larger parachute Adams, this style of fly can be the answer when fish are breaking the surface, but it isn’t clear what they’re eating. Here’s our take on the best from both flies rolled into a single pattern.
