Floatants & Sinkets

Gink is one of the most well known dry fly floatants, and is also extremely effective at skating salmon and steelhead streamers.

Gink is a gel at room temperature, but will liquify at skin temperature. Once the floatant comes back in contact with water, it returns to a clear, waterproof gel that will help your dry flies float high and dry.

This dressing keeps your dry fly floating high and masks human odors with pheromones. Aquel does not thin out when it's hot or thicken when it's cold. This product works great with a Fly Caddy, clipped to your vest, and stored upside down.

This powder quickly dries flies, and coats them with floatant, all in one step. It works especially well for CDC flies as well as large hoppers and stoneflies.

Double Duty Fly Treatment.  Great stuff.  We use this to treat dry flies AND nymphs.  When treating dries, the brush applicator allows the powder to be worked into every nook and cranny.  Treating nymphs will put an air bubble around them that looks like an emerging insect. Doubtful?  Try it -- or don't.  

Lochsa is a premium all-around gel floatant that even works on CDC. It won’t mat dry flies made with CDC and is perfect for treating any type of feathers, hair, hackle, or yarn. Lochsa will provide maximum floatation without the slightest hindrance on appearance. It is silicone based, and won’t melt in the heat or harden when it’s cold.

An excellent paste floatant designed for line, leader and tippet as well as flies. The paste rubs on clear, keeping leader and tippet floating on top. It can also be used as a temporary treatment for damaged floating lines. As a fly floatant, Payette Paste can be applied to large flies, giving wings and bodies a smooth silky coating. It will keep its’ texture regardless of temperature.

Loon Fly Dip replaces the smelly, flammable dips you are familiar with. Dip the fly, let it dry by false casting it a few times, and it is ready to go. Works great for any style of dry fly, including CDC. Won't leave an oil slick on the water.

Flies treated with Henry’s Sinket quickly break surface tension and rapidly drop in the water column to where the fish are. It helps nymphs get deep, where they roll along the bottom as naturally dislodged nymphs would. It’s especially effective on streamers, getting flies down on the first cast rather than waiting until the materials become saturated. Henry’s Sinket is completely biodegradable.
