It was extremely cold again this week. As we were tying saltwater bugs, our day dreaming turned to future days of dry-dropper weather. One of the classic flies that we like on small creeks and freestones is the Humpy. The classic Humpy is a difficult fly to tie, but it looks great and floats well. Here’s a version that floats well, is bulletproof, and is quicker to tie than the classic. This is the type of fly that can be strung to your rod for months as the “dry” in a dry-dropper rig.
