Tying a Twenty Incher with Hot Spot Biots
Adding hotspots to classics is possible with new INFERNO biots

Hot spots can be incorporated in different ways (see our blog here: https://www.discountflies.com/...) and in many different colors. The new INFERNO Biots by SemperFli are another great option for adding hotspots to classics like the Twenty Incher. We also show a technique to greatly simplify and meaningfully improve the durability of partridge legs on nymphs.
Twenty Incher Fishing Fly with Hot Spot
- Hook: Streamer Hook, Kona NS2, size 6-12
- Bead: To size of hook. We like a large bead (3.8mm for a size 8)
- Weight: SemperFli Lead Wire, 0.4mm. 8-10 wraps.
- Thread: SemperFli Classic Waxed 6/0, Brown.
- Tail: SemperFli INFERNO Biots, Flame (or color of your choice)
- Body: SemperFli Scud Dubbing, Peacock.
- Rib: SemperFli Wire 0.3mm, Gold
- Wingcase: Turkey or a synthetic flash
- Legs: Partridge
- Thorax: Hare’s Ear Dubbing
- Resin Wingcase: UV Craft Thick Root Beer
