It is often said that if a Hopper won’t entice fish, a Beetle is needed. Even the pickiest fish know what a beetle is. From tailwaters to freestones, fish are eager to takes beetles. Especially late summer and early fall (like, before the heater kicks on for the first time). Most beetles are relatively simple to tie, and most look similar. Here’s a version that incorporates many components….legs, wings, hi-vis.
