The half submerged fly looks like a struggling light colored mayfly, attempting to hatch, and very vulnerable to trout!. The Mole Fly emerger is a very effective mayfly emerger fly. The shaggy body of natural dubbing is meant to sink in to the film. The CDC wing and a few strands of fluoro fibers act as a wingcase. Trout will grab this fly as an emerging or crippled mayfly.
