The bead head hare's ear is a time tested pattern that is extremely effective at catching fish. It is versatile in that it imitates a wide variety of underwater bugs. This fly has loose hair around the thorax that simulate the legs of an aquatic insect, and a bead head to help it sink into the zone where the big fish hang out. The Bead Head Hare's Ear Nymph is available in black, olive and natural. Each color is both effective and a must in a fly fisherman's fly box.

There are over 600 mayfly nymph species, of which most are brown, and very similar in appearance to the pheasant tail nymph. The Jujubaetis Emerger Flashback has an eye catching (both fish and fisherman) segmentation, slim profile, and flash along the top to simulate an emerging nymph. This is a great choice to use during a Baetis Hatch.

Pat's Rubberleg Stonefly is a simple Stonefly pattern that has fooled trout for decades...Weighted underbody, dense chenille, and long squirmy rubber legs is all it takes for Pat's Rubberlegs to continue putting fish in the net. Fluorocarbon leader will help the plummet and get you in the zone.
Add a jig hook to keep the fly from catching the bottom of the river, and a dense tungsten bead to get the fly deep, where big fish prefer to feed, and you have a winner.
