The Hula Damsel is possibly the best fishing damsel patterns available. Designed by Herman De gala of Colorado, this little wiggler has the action to drive fish crazy...realistic to a degree, creative beyond. Articulated back end allows this CDC legged pattern to shake and shimmy as the name suggests.

While overshadowed by the pheasant tail, which is arguably greatest nymph of all time, this pattern is a Frank Sawyer creation from the 1930s.  Originally tied using Chadwick's wool, this fly is now tied using a shetland wool in an oyster color.  More important than the color, the wool is transparent when wet which allows the hot pink thread to show. Our guess is that this pattern was originally tied to immitate a scud, but we've had much success fishing this as a general point fly or as a crane fly larva.  Heck, sometimes we throw it just becuase it is heavy.  We can count on it for at least one or two fish each day.  Give it a shot.

Hope's Carp Damsel - Yellow Olive - The pursuit of carp on the fly led Adam Hope to come up with this fly. It is a gentle sinker, and carp love it. Great for fishing is clear water for spooky fish, as well as lightly stained water. If you fish for carp, these should be in your box.

The Dainty Damsel is a wonderful representation of the natural, matching the coloration and movement very well. Fish this pattern along grass lines with a fluorocarbon leader or tippet alone or with an unweighted prince nymph.

Damsels are among trouts favorite food items, especially in stillwater. This pattern was developed by Larry Tullis while searching for larger trout in the Rockies. Fished with a fluorocarbon leader along weed and grass lines, this pattern can be mistaken as a juvenile Dragonfly also.
