Description
Pat's Rubberleg Stonefly is a simple Stonefly pattern that has fooled trout for decades...Weighted underbody, dense chenille, and long squirmy rubber legs is all it takes for Pat's Rubberlegs to continue putting fish in the net. Fluorocarbon leader will help the plummet and get you in the zone.
Add a jig hook to keep the fly from catching the bottom of the river, and a dense tungsten bead to get the fly deep, where big fish prefer to feed, and you have a winner.

Description
Classic Stonefly pattern, legendary in the Roaring Fork Valley of the Colorado Rocky Mountains as a go to Stonefly pattern or Green Drake Nymph. This version is tied on a jig hook with flash ribbing.  The wingcase has UV epoxy and a small amount of flash (similar to a Copper John).  If that doesn't turn heads, the orange hotspot collar will.  A classic pattern meets the modern jig scene.

Bead/Hook Sizes:
#8, 10 & 12 hook: 3.8 mm  Slotted Tungsten Bead
#14 hook: 3.3 mm  Slotted Tungsten Bead

Description With the introduction of Ultra Wire to the tying world, many standard patterns gained weight while keeping their figure...Brad Befus created the Wired Stonefly pattern to get down fast while keeping a realistic profile. Too often, Stonefly patterns become too fat and disproportionate by adding lead wire underbodies. This multi wired body offers some segmentation using two color wires wrapped together. Fish this pattern below an indicator with Fluorocarbon or in tandem with a Prince Nymph.

While Stoneflies (Plecoptera) can be found in many rivers in the U.S., they are especially abundant in clean, cold, fast moving waters. These are generally large bugs and fish like big meals!

Stonefly nymphs crawl toward shore. During this migration, opportunistic fish will also be found close to shore, and dead-drifting a matching stonefly nymph close to the bank can be very effective.

The large Pteronarcyida (Pteronarcys) or Salmonfly begin their hatch in early May, with the hatch winding down in June.

Golden Stoneflies (Perlidae or Perlid) begin hatching in May and the hatch extends intermittently through September.

Little Golden Stoneflies (Chloroperlidae) hatch June - September
