Mop flies have been proving deadly in reservoirs, streams, and creeks. At Semperfli we looked at the mop fly and decided to upgrade it to make the mop fly even more deadly and created Mopster Chenille. We measured the diameter of a range of mops to work out a consistent size then created an entirely new chenille with multicolored guard hair tinsels protruding from the chenille. A PARTY MOP!
The tinsel provides mobility and additional attraction in the water and make the mop fly look astounding. Dyed in our standard color palette --from Fluoro colors to purple -- Mopster is the future of the Mop fly.

Specially designed with a mix of natural and synthetic materials Dirty Bug Yarn was designed resulting from research of different dubbings when it was realized that many traditional dubbings were often ‘single color’ dubbings. In reality, if you look at a fly or nymph - like a baetis nymph - it may be olive in color but it is usually a mix of colors; nature is not monochromatic or single color. Using this insight, we made blends of colors and Dirty Bug Yarn was born. Essential dubbing colors and blends suitable for specific families of flies such as caddis have also been created to give tyers the very best options.
For people who are used to doing their own dubbing blends, working with Dirty Bug Yarn means you no longer have to worry about inconsistency or forgetting how you mixed your last blend! Tying with Dirty Bug Yarn means you can rely on a consistent blend ongoing.
Its worth noting that Dirty Bug Yarn does trap air and it will also take floatant. And its lovely if you taper it to a point.
These dubbing blends are then wonven into a rope and spooled. As a result, these ready made yarns can simply be tied and wound onto a hook. Try twisting the rope into a tight cord for natural segmentation! Developed twin strands Dirty Bug Yarn can be used straight off the spool for larger flies or split into single strands for smaller flies.
There are 5m / 5.4 yards (approx ) per spool.

SEMPERFLI Tying Wire 0.3mm (Medium) is a brassie fly tying wire, non tarnishing and perfect for your heavy nymphs, brassies, copper johns, streamers, sea trout, predator and salmon flies as bodies, ribs or thoraxes. Measuring 0.3mm or 0.012 inch diameter the non tarnishing means it can even be used in saltwater.
Our spools have a removeable cap to re-trap the wire once you have removed a section to tie your flies.
Rather than cutting simply wiggle in a helicopter motion and it will break, saving damage to your scissors

Designed to imitate natural Peacock Herl, Semperfli Synthetic Peacock Herl is a fritz / chenille which contains all the iridescents that you find in natural Peacock Herl...accents of blue, green, copper and gold highlight and change in different lighting conditions just like natural Peacock Herl.
Peacock herl has been used for many years as a fly tying material. With its stunning iridescence, fly tyers love the way the colors change as you look at this amazing material. Because of recent CITES restrictions on natural herl, the Semperfli team decided to create a synthetic peacock herl that would reflect different colors. This new synthetic material has black, blue and green backgrounds and different colored tinsels embedded. Built on a tight core, this synthetic is designed to mimic peacock’s natural iridescence and color changing properties as light hits different parts of the herl. With this synthetic herl you can cover the hook very quickly with simple wraps to create perfect alternative to Peacock Herl without the concern that your Peacock Herl will snap mid fly.
This synthetic peacock herl is available in Extra Small (2mm) and Small (4mm).
When SemperFli worked on the prototypes of this product, samples were sent to some of their pro team for testing. They received exciting feedback. Hans van Klinken immediately used it as the thorax of his Klinkhamer and told us its absolutely great, awesome for Klinkhamer 2.0 for size 12 and larger flies. You will see it in his book when it is released!

Sparkle Dubbing is a vibrant sparkling dubbing designed to reflect light which glints through this superb dubbing. Sparkle Dubbing is synthetic and has a sheen that reflects light and adds lustre and sparkle to dubbing. It is a longer fibre that you can blend with other dubbings. After all, as anglers we have all send natural bugs glisten and sparkle in the sunlight. Designed to give that same glisten that you get from natural insects or as an attractor or hot spot to trigger attacks from the predatory fish you are hunting.
Sparkle Dubbing has been pre cut and blended into approximately 2” / 50mm lengths for easy handling when dubbing. Sparkle Dubbing is 35 microns diameter. Sparkle Dubbing Black is the perfect dubbing to put hot spots on nymphs, thoraxes or bodies on your flies.
We like the Dark Brown and Deep Purple for tying Top Secret Midges.
