Yes, it will catch trout that are attune to stonefly nymphs, but this fly can be stripped like a streamer as well as dead drifted in moving water. Likely the most recognized Midge pattern, the Brassie was created for the South Platte river drainage near Denver Colorado in the early '60's. The Brassie has never failed to remain a staple in fly boxes across the nation being tied in many color variations, it's likely responsible for the introduction of such materials as Ultra Wire. The bead head version adds weight to the already heavy bug getting it down in the strike zone even more efficiently.

Popularized by competition anglers, the France Fly follows a winning design formula: jig hook and bead, stiff tail, slim and segmented body, and hot spot. This version adds a CDC collar for movement. Simply put, this fly has become a workhorse for competition anglers. We've had success with this pattern across water types and locations. We can't imagine not having this fly in mulitple sizes, weights, and colors. This fly is tied on a Hanak 450BL and is available in Brown, Black, and Olive.

This is a great Bead Head San Juan worm pattern. Hammond's Fuzzy Worm isn't only a fantastic trout fly, but also a dynamite panfish pattern. Use a Fluorocarbon leader or tippet fished below a Foamulator.
