Created by Larry Graham, the Lightning Bug Nymph can be used as a searching nymph, but will probably draw more strikes when used as a Pale morning dun emerger. Either way, this is an excellent nymph to fly fish with.
By tying this fly with a tungsten bead, the fly sinks quickly, where big trout prefer to feed, and the jig hook helps keep the fly from hooking the bottom of the river.

The Prince Nymph is one of the most successful nymph patterns ever developed. The tungsten bead hotwire prince nymph has all the fish catching qualities of a regular prince nymph, but tied with a segmented wire body and a tungsten bead, that really gets the fly deep. The old adage states "if your nymph isn't getting stuck, you're not fishing where you should be" The Jiggy series uses a 60 degree jig hook, allowing the angler to fish the fly directly on the bottom where nymphs live. Increased drifts without hanging up on the bottom is the biggest advantage this style nymph offers. This orientation also helps with a more positive hook up, typically pinning the fish top dead center allowing a faster and safer release.!

The Copper J (compare to a Copper John) is a combination of three very effective nymph patterns, the prince nymph, the brassie, and the pheasant tail. The pattern is very effective, and has become just as popular as any other nymph that we sell. The most common way to fish this nymph is to tie it on as a dropper fly, attached to a hopper pattern up front.
This version is tied with a tungsten bead to get the fly deep quickly, and a jig hook, which will help prevent snagging the bottom of the river.
