Nice looking fly, but break out your heavier rods. I struggled with this with a bug taper 8 wt once it soaked up some water. After a while I was wishing I had my 9 wt.

I have tied similar mouse patterns for years until I finally found a commercial tie that was similar to mine. I very much prefer the trailer hook as it results in more safe upper lip hookups, when tied with a rigid material like flexible wire. Most commercial Hankeys use this. I used to use stiff mono and shrink wrap. Anyhow the ones you sent were attached with flacid nylon, which allows the hook to dangle at any angle. Otherwise, a well tied fly.

Great looking fly that produces surface strikes. Only gave it four stars because it needs floatant to float high.

The #18 & #20 Hunchbacks fished perfectly in the film. When I couldn't get the sippers to take anything else, I trailed the Hunchbacks behind a Humpy. Worked like magic.
