This is an excellent stillwater pattern. Not only are trout attracted to this fly, but other damsels will also hang around it, and even land on it. Slim profile looks just like the real thing!

Trout can be maddeningly picky. After trying one adult damsel pattern after another, I noticed that the trout were going after pairs of damsels....This is a fun damsel pattern to fish, and very effective!!!!

Adult Damsel Flies - X-Fly Damsel Olive

When a damsel nymph hatches into an adult, it will slowly swim through the water horizontally, aiming toward land. Fish this pattern from shore on sinking tip line, retrieving in slow short strips. (Be careful to match your fly's direction of travel with the other nymphs!) Many of the hits will occur during your pause, which will be subtle.
