The Mercury Blood Midge is tied with a small highly reflective bead, which gives the appearance of a gas bubble, used by the natural insect to float to the surface. This is a very effective midge or chironomid pattern.
The Mercury Blood Midge is used to imitate a red midge or red chironomid, which are abundant in many rivers and lakes. This bug is enthusiastically targeted by trout, and this fly will catch them!
