Likely the most recognized Midge pattern, the Brassie was created for the South Platte river drainage near Denver Colorado in the early '60's. The Brassie has never failed to remain a staple in fly boxes across the nation being tied in many color variations, it's likely responsible for the introduction of such materials as Ultra Wire. The bead head version adds weight to the already heavy bug getting it down in the strike zone even more efficiently.

he pheasant tail pattern has been improved with this rendition by adding a woven segmented body, subtle flash to attract fish, yet not too much to scare them off.

The STD Baetis Pheasant Tail- Tungsten Bead is a very effective baetis nymph pattern, but can be used to imitate Flavs, Tricos, Midges, ... because it looks so buggy and lifelike!

Many rivers grow a population of aquatic worms, or annelids, reaching 1 to 3 inches. They occur in many colors, but typically look like an earthworm...just smaller.

The Firebead Sparkle Worm - Orange works well as a San Juan Worm style of fly, and the Firebead really gets the attention of fish...good reason to use it as the lead fly when fishing a tandem set-up.

Color is important, so take a variety of colors.

Bjorn's Baddest Caddis - Orange includes soft fibers tied to the throat, which simulate the movement of a caddis pupa, frantically swimming toward the surface of the water.

Fish this fly starting as a dead drift, but swing it, so that the fly is raised, which will trigger a big response from attentive trout.

This pattern is very effective for fishing the October Caddis Hatch.
