There is nothing more effective at sinking a nymph quickly into the strike zone than a dense bead of tungsten. There are over 600 mayfly nymph species, of which most are brown, and very similar in appearance to the pheasant tail nymph. Originally tied by Frank Sawyer, this pattern has been tweaked over the years, and continues to sell well because of its effectiveness. Keep a good selection of this trout fly.

Pat's Rubberleg Stonefly is a simple Stonefly pattern that has fooled trout for decades...Weighted underbody, dense chenille, and long squirmy rubber legs is all it takes for Pat's Rubberlegs to continue putting fish in the net. Fluorocarbon leader will help the plummet and get you in the zone.
Add a jig hook to keep the fly from catching the bottom of the river, and a dense tungsten bead to get the fly deep, where big fish prefer to feed, and you have a winner.

Cast the Soft Hackle pattern across the river, then let it swing downstream, which lifts the fly upwards in the water. Trout will attack this fly, so hold on! The Soft Hackle Hare's Ear nymph is also effective in stillwater as an emerging callibaetis or as an attractor.

The Perdigon has nothing to stop it from dropping to the bottom and resembling the size and silhouette of just about any mayfly nymph. The old adage states "if your nymph isn't getting stuck, you're not fishing where you should be" The Jiggy series uses a 60 degree jig hook, allowing the angler to fish the fly directly on the bottom where nymphs live. Increased drifts without hanging up on the bottom is the biggest advantage this style nymph offers. This orientation also helps with a more positive hook up, typically pinning the fish top dead center allowing a faster and safer release.!

The RS2 is one of the most recognized patterns available. Originator Rim Chung developed this pattern to mimic the natural emergent stage of a mayfly in it's most vulnerable state. RS2, meaning Rims Semblance 2 is as the name suggests, his second and final version of the intended pattern.

The Jiggy Peaches and Cream is a super sparse little PMD pattern originating on the heavily pressured waters in the Reno area.
