Mark Engler created one of the best baetis nymph patterns of the past 20 years in his WD40. Featuring a swollen thorax area alluding to the wing busting emergent stage directly before becoming a winged adult. This beadhead version allows the pattern to fish a little deeper.

This pattern was developed for the scuds that are prevalent in the Bighorn River of Montana. However, any moving water where there are Scud or Sow Bugs, the Original Bighorn Scud is an excellent choice. Fish in tandem with a Crystal Back Scud

Snails are a major source of food for trout, and often overlooked by fishermen. Suspend one of these off of a strike indicator, and twich it occasionally.

Near 'Nuff Crawfish - Tan - Created by fly-tying and fly-fishing legend Dave Whitlock, this fly is considered one of the best ever created for catching carp. If you are going after carp, have some of these in your box. You won't go wrong.

Wiggle Flashabugger - White - A cousin to the original wooly bugger, with a bit more flash. Gets down fast to the fish. Use 'em! Also available in Olive and Black. Throw then for trout, bass, pike, bream, carp, etc.

The scud is a freshwater crustacean found in lakes, tailwaters and most rivers. The scud provides a lot of protein in a trout's diet. In a river, dead drift the fly. When fishing a lake, use a sinking or sink tip line, fish around weeds, and slowly retrieve the fly. The shade of scuds vary from locality to locality, and with time, so be prepared with several colors.

The Kreelex is a Chuck Kraft creation.  Chuck was a guide and master fly tyer.  As the story goes, Chuck guided 160+ days per year and started guiding in South America in the 1990's.  It was here that he first used the Kreinik flash that is used to tie this fly.  The material moves, pulsates, and breathes in the water. While the original name was the "Rolex," it didn't take long before his friends advised him that those watching might have an issue with the name.  This fly has produced trout, bass, and salt species.  We were first turned on to the fly as a point fly when Czech stlye nymphing.  George Daniel uses this fly with great success as a jigged streamer in high, stained water.  It works.  Everywhere. For all species.

Beadhead Flashabugger - Peacock/Brown Tail - With a little added flash, this fly grabs the attention of anglers and fish! This color works year-around, but we found it is really effective when summer begins to fade and fall comes on... good for catching trout, carp, bass, pike, crappie, bluegill. A number of these flies should be in your fly boxes.

This pattern was originally tied by Shane Stallcup, one of the most inventive fly tyers in the U.S. Cruising damsel nymphs fished toward the shoreline are irresistible to large trout. These nymphs don't swim very fast, so use a slow retrieve on a sinking tip line for best results.
