New Products - Mantis Shrimp - Olive

- Code: W-MANSO
-
Price as low as:
$2.36
- Quantity in Basket: none
The Mantis Shrimp fly pattern is our best selling bonefish fly. Why? Because it is sooooo effective! This fly catches bonefish anywhere it is fished. (Small barracuda are also enamored with this fly, so take plenty!)
New production of this fly is being tied as follows:
- #8 as stated above is tied on #8 Tiemco 811S (This hook requires a lighter tippet)
- #6 as stated above is tied on #8 SL-11 3H
- #4 as stated above is tied on #6 SL-11 3H [NOTE: because of a shortage of SL-11s in this size, we are temporarily tying our size 4s on a Gama SL-12S hook. This hook is the same size, but has a slightly larger hook gap]
- #2 as stated above is tied on #4 SL-11 3H
The Gamakatsu SL-11 3H is one of the strongest and sharpest hooks available, and worth every penny when you hook-up with a fish of a lifetime!
Additionally, new production also includes a weed guard, which can easily be trimmed off if it is not necessary.

New Products - Flex Crab Olive

- Code: W-FLEXOL
-
Price as low as:
$3.17
- Quantity in Basket: none
There's some debate surrounding the origins of this fly. Most seem to agree that Richard Whitner was involved in the early development of crab patterns using flex material. What isn't up for debate is that this crab pattern is a go-to fish slayer. The mesh flex material and internal dumbell eyes result in a fly that sinks rapidly and can be put right in front of feeding fish. Try it in blue, tan, camo, and olive.

New Products - Balanced Leech - Thin Mint

- Code: S-BLTM
-
Price as low as:
$2.00
- Quantity in Basket: none
The Balanced Leech Fly pattern is designed to be fished under an indicator. The fly is tied on a jig hook, and balances horizontally below the indicator. This causes the fly to appear like a slow swimming leech or minnow.
While the fly is quite popular at Pyramid Lake, it is effective wherever leeches or minnows are present.

New Products - Jiggy Quilldigon - Olive

- Code: N-JQOL
-
Price as low as:
$1.90
- Quantity in Basket: none
Quills provide natural segmention without any need for additional materials. That helps this fly stay sleek and sink quick. Well played, Mr Olsen. Like Perdigons in general, this fly has nothing to stop it from dropping to the bottom and resembling the size and silhouette of just about any mayfly nymph. The old adage states "if your nymph isn't getting stuck, you're not fishing where you should be" The Jiggy series uses a 60 degree jig hook, allowing the angler to fish the fly directly on the bottom where nymphs live. Increased drifts without hanging up on the bottom is the biggest advantage this style nymph offers. This orientation also helps with a more positive hook up, typically pinning the fish top dead center allowing a faster and safer release!

New Products - Jiggy Articulated Pat's Rubberleg - Coffee TB

- Code: N-JAPLC
-
Price as low as:
$2.21
- Quantity in Basket: none
Pat's Rubberleg Stonefly is a simple Stonefly pattern that has fooled trout for decades. And, if you cross tying a Jiggy Pat's Rubberleg while listening to 90's Hip Hop by "2 In the Room" you might get a Jiggy Pat's Rubberleg to "Wiggle it, Just a Little Bit..." It's a terrible song, and music video is worse. That said, the video begins with a guy rowing a drift boat into the ocean while wearing short white shorts. What?!?! Completely random. What's not random is that articulation tends to make "great" even better. This is an interesting next step on a modern take of a classic. We expect this will be our go-to stonefly from now on.

New Products - Kreelex - Silver & Gold

- Code: S-KLXSG
-
Price as low as:
$2.27
- Quantity in Basket: none
The Kreelex is a Chuck Kraft creation. Chuck was a guide and master fly tyer. As the story goes, Chuck guided 160+ days per year and started guiding in South America in the 1990's. It was here that he first used the Kreinik flash that is used to tie this fly. The material moves, pulsates, and breathes in the water. While the original name was the "Rolex," it didn't take long before his friends advised him that those watching might have an issue with the name. This fly has produced trout, bass, and salt species. We were first turned on to the fly as a point fly when Czech stlye nymphing. George Daniel uses this fly with great success as a jigged streamer in high, stained water. It works. Everywhere. For all species.
