The Clouser Minnow is a fly with a wide variety of species caught to it's credit. (Lefty Kreh claims to have caught over 85 species on this fly!) It is an effective pattern for any predator fish found in freshwater or saltwater.
The fly was designed to imitate baitfish. Be prepared with several color combinations to match the local baitfish.
This fly is now being tied on a Gamakatsu SL-11 3H hook, one of the strongest and sharpest hooks available. The extra cost of this hook is worth every penny when you hook-up with a fish of a lifetime!

I have caught basically everything on these flies. Smallmouth clobber them in stained water after a rain. I have caught Pike and Musky on a size 4 stripping it in fast while fishing for crappie. Oh yeah big CRAPPIE! Great flies that are plenty durable for toothy critters.
