The Fleeing Crab is one of the most productive Permit flies that you can use in the Yucatan, but don't just fish it there, and don't just fish it for Permit. This fly will catch bonefish, snook, ...anything that likes crab, and who doesn't like crab?
This fly has heavily weighted dumbell eyes, and will sink quickly. A slow strip will catch permit, and a strip and pause will catch bonefish.
New production of this fly is being tied as follows:
- #8 as stated above is tied on #8 Tiemco 811S (This hook requires a lighter tippet)
- #6 as stated above is tied on #6 Tiemco 811S
- #4 as stated above is tied on #6 SL-11 3H
- #2 as stated above is tied on #4 SL-11 3H
