Thunder Creek Minnow is a great fly to use for Arctic Char and Dolly Varden. I also use it instead of a hook below a bead when char fishing.

The Thunder Creek Minnow is the fly to use for Dolly Varden in June,July and early August. Sea run dollies just tear this fly up when they come back to fresh water. It's the only fly needed to catch dollies anywhere in Alaska during the summer. It is as effective as egg patterns are in the fall. I just purchased 10 dozen for next summers Alaska trip. Don't leave home without them!

This is the only fly I use when fishing the Uganik River on Kodiak Island, Alaska for Dolly Varden. I have caught hundreds of dollies on it even in the fall when eggs/beads are the prefered fly..
