This pattern can be retrieved fast under water to represent a minnow, or slow to represent a nymph. If floated, it looks like a grasshopper. This fly is very attractive to fish and like getting three flies for the price of one.
The muddler minnow was a great start to a spectacular day of fishing on the the South Branch of the Au Sable River. I had a beautiful brook trout on the line in the first 20 minutes of fishing.
