My buddy used one of these, on the San Juan, that he seems to only be able to find around the Big Horn. I ordered us all some and these are exactly like they tie up there!
THE highwater solution for tailwaters ( Verified Buyer )

I just recently fished this fly today while guiding on the lower Provo below deer creek reservoir in northern Utah. The water is extremely high but clear due to it being a tailwater. It has a large sowbug population. Other times of the year these fish require exact imitations but this time of year is not the case. Flies with a little more flash and movement work best. Enter Ray Charles. The perfect fly for situations where high water is flushing out large quantities of crustaceans and your need a fly with enough color contrast and flash to set your fly apart. This fly is super durable and lasts several fish. I have used it with similar results on rivers such as the North Platte, Green, and Bighorn; just to name a few. I highly recommend this fly for weedy tailwaters and spring creeks everywhere
