The Last Chance Cripple fly pattern was designed for the picky, fly inspecting trout of the Henry's Fork. This fly is designed to imitate a mayfly struggling to escape it's nymph exoskeleton. This is a very vulnerable state in life for a mayfly, and trout know that these flies are are an easy meal.
This pattern is effective for the following mayfly hatches:
- Pink Lady or Slate Brown Dun
- Little Marryatt
- Pale Morning Dun
- Quill Gordon
- Red Quill
- Sulfur dun
