DRY FLY SLACK LINE LEADER: Nothing is more important in dry fly fishing than your leader and its presentation.  Our CastMax Target Dry Fly Slack Leaders are designed and tied to land in 'S-curves' in the butt section and more in swirls in the thinner tippet section. In order to get the longest drag-free drift, you want this slack in the leader as it lands on the water, and most importantly in the thinner termination section. When cast properly, these leaders will not straighten out, but land in serpentine curves. The pre-set slack sections now can get pulled and straightened downstream with as little drag as possible by varying currents.  This also minimizes the need for mending. Our specialized CastMax Target Dry Fly Slack leaders are tied in 7 sections, beginning with a .017 butt and terminating at various tippet sizes, depending your preference, for the most precise taper and presentation.  Leader diameters are much thinner in the butt sections than commercial tapered leaders which gives you more control and more delicate presentations.  The butt sections are stiffer Maxima Chameleon for best turnover and distance, while the most critical thinner termination sections are of softer Maxima Ultragreen mono.  Total length is 9'. Designed for use with 3wt -5wt fly lines.
