Description
The Thin Mint might be the streamer of the decade. The tungsten bead version and the the articulated version are both top sellers. This is another version in the same same highly-productive color scheme. This version varies in the following ways:
- We tie this in smaller sizes,
- This pattern is tied on a jig hook,
- The "hackle" is a mix of black and brown CDC, and
- The dubbing collar is swept back to create pulsating leech movements
We fish this several ways, including in lakes under an indicator or stripped slowly and dread drifted as a point fly (our favorite way to fish this).

In size #14 I found this to be much more productive than a Thin Mint Wooly Bugger, fished with a fast strip. I think smaller flies can be more productive, that dark tungsten are much more productive than brass beadhead, and the short-ish tail on this fly reduces short strikes. This one is well-tied and great colors!
