Electric Green Drake is one of the most realistic Green Drake (Ephemera guttulatais) patterns that we offer. The green drake is one of the largest mayflies that trout have available to them. They generally hatch mid-day, and will cause trout to focus only on this fly pattern. The nymph emerges to the surface of the water quickly, and after drying its wings, flies off. This leaves little time for trout to grab a bite, so they become very opportunistic when they see the electric green drake dry fly.
The Electric Green Drake was the perfect imitation for the green drakes that were coming off streams in the Poconos. Tried other green drake patterns, but trout would only hit this particular pattern during several weeks of the hatch.
