Stonefly patterns are historically HEAVY, known as sparkplugs and cannon balls by many. Even The small stonefly patterns do best on the bottom, the Jiggy Iron Sally is the perfect little yellow sally pattern. Fish in tandem with a Copper J or dead drifted alone with a Fluorocarbon Leader.!

Created by Larry Graham, the Lightning Bug Nymph can be used as a searching nymph, but will probably draw more strikes when used as a Pale morning dun emerger. Either way, this is an excellent nymph to fly fish with.
By tying this fly with a tungsten bead, the fly sinks quickly, where big trout prefer to feed, and the jig hook helps keep the fly from hooking the bottom of the river.
