Fly of the Week

The Black Beauty is one of the most effective midge patterns ever tied, and an absolute must fly during the cold months. If you ever wonder why this nymph is so effective, look under some rocks along the river. You will most likely see a lot of slender black midges!

Fly of the Week - Chubby Chernobyl - UV Tan

The Chubby Chernobyl is a big improvement on a Chernobyl Ant, adding a bouyant and highly visible wing to a fly that already catches tons of fish.
This fly is used to imitate a hopper, stonefly and skwalla. It is also fished as an attractor pattern.
This fly is a great choice of fly to use as a hopper dropper, since it can easily float most tungsten bead nymphs.

Fly of the Week - Blood Midge

Fly of the Week - Zebra Midge Beadhead Bubbleback - Black

We'd like to know how many fish the zebra midge fools each year. It is a lot. Adding the glass bead imitates the tiny buble of gas the midge uses to float itself from the bottom to the top of the water. Fish this pattern at any depth.

Fly of the Week - Mercury Blood Midge

The Mercury Blood Midge is tied with a small highly reflective bead, which gives the appearance of a gas bubble, used by the natural insect to float to the surface. This is a very effective midge or chironomid pattern.

Fly of the Week - Slim Shady Baetis

The Mercury Glass bead used in the Mercury Midge gives the illusion of the gas bubble present during the emergence of aquatic insects. Pat Dorsey has proven time and time again that this addition to already productive patterns has made a positive difference in the quantity and quality of fish his clients land.

Fly of the Week - WD40 - Olive

The WD stands for wood duck, which is used to tie the tail of this very successful nymph. The WD40 midge larva nymph pattern is one of the most effective patterns we have fished, and is also effective at imitating baetis nymph.
