Bobbins are the critical tool in tying since they must keep smooth tension on the thread spool to apply the thread to your fly. These bobbins have delrin feet for smooth tension on the thread spool, and have ceramic inserts for smooth application of thread to fly. This is important for small threads and threads like Nano Silk. These funnel shaped inserts allow for a smoother application of thread or other materials as the bobbin is rotated, and they cause less breakage than traditional pipe or straight edged inserts.
These are large, heavy duty bobbins...great for streamers, bass bugs, and saltwater flies.
The total length is 5 inches. The tube -- from the thread insert end to the tip -- is 2.5 inches.

A heavy duty bodkin with a built-in dubbing brush. What makes this one of our favorite tying tools, however, is the foot at the tip. This foot is perfect for spreading resin evenly as well as applying wingcases on perdigons. This is the tool that, once we used it, wondered how we ever tied without it. Total length is 5.5 inches. The dubbing brush portion is approximately 1 inch.
