Trout Spey rods -- also called Micro Spey or Switch rods -- are 2-5 wt, two-handed rods that go 10.5 - 11 feet long. While smaller and lighter than traditional spey rods, the cast is the same. Used to swing flies to trout (think big, carnivorous browns), this technique has a dedicated following. While a "niche" segment at the the moment, we suspect this technique will continue to grow. We hope to go along for the ride.
