This pattern was originally developed for use in the San Juan River in New Mexico. Turns out, fish will gladly take this pattern in nearly any locality. Color is important, so take a variety.

Fished this worm in size 12 about 10" under a small split shot on my very first fly fishing outing. After about 5 or 6 casts, I had my first fish, a decent 15" brown. Not bad for a January catch.
