Within minutes, you can be fly fishing the headwaters of the Colorado River in Rocky Mountain National Park, the Frasier River, or head downstream to fish the Colorado River near Parshall or Hot Sulphur Springs, where the Williams Fork River empties into the Colorado. The Blue River is only a few more miles downstream.
Get off the beaten path, and fish for cutthroat, rainbow, brown and brookies by hiking one of many trails in the area. The scenery is spectacular, and the fish are very opportunistic. You will quickly remember why you love this sport!
Other opportunities of this scenic area in Grand County include fishing for Lake Trout, Kokanee Salmon and Rainbow Trout in Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Reservoir or Lake Granby.
Hunting opportunities are excellent in Game Management Unit 18. Public land is abundant, and so are elk, moose and deer.
Other winter time recreation includes skiing at Winter Park, Snowmobiling and Cross Country Skiing.
Other summer time activities include sailing and boating, riding ATV's, waterskiing, and golf.
